plans with the music video

After we had filmed the first draft, we realised that our framing, storyline and editing were not good enough to get us the grade we wanted. Adding to this, the cuts wernt fast enough to go with the pace of the music. Because of this, we decided as a group that we would re shoot the whole video, and change the whole idea. We wanted to make it more perfromance based as the song itself is very quick and has alot of guitar in it. This would help make it look realistic and more professional. Our idea came after we had done our photo shoot for the ancillary task of making a digi-pack. We saw that we used very good framing in the shots. The settings were also very good, and we were coming up with very good ideas that looked alot sharper. Due to this our aim was to use these similar settings to film, with the same sort of framing whilst playing as a band.

first draft of music video

Here is are first draft of our music video. There is a few things that we need to tweek, but we are all very happy with the first outcome. We tried making it simple enough to film but also creative so it wasnt boring. I think thatved this, but using the three split screens all together showing the group playing as one. The breif story is of three people that love their music and just want to play the guitar. So you see how their lives are evolved around the guitar, about the music itself rather than fame. This is trying to reflect how 'two door cinema club' are with their music.

shooting Schedule

Shot location
View more documents from cmccauley7

Above is my shot location sheet. It explains where we went, what time , who was in the shot and what we used. This is to help us understand what we need to do on the day, and lets us see what exact shot were shooting. I had to do it on word, so the layout is a little bit harder to get right than a table. However it explains the key things that i need to know in each shot.

storyboards

Storyboards

Above is our storyboards that we drew out to give us an initial overview of the shots we wanted to use in our video. We done it very brief as we had the idea we wanted moulded in our heads, so the storyboards were done just to lay out the exact order and shots that we were going to use. This helped us see if we wanted to add any shots or to change the order in case we thought of any other ideas. Its good as you can see your general layout, as some shots may not look right. After we drew out the initial idea we had to change a couple of shots, as they didnt seem to look right in cutting from one to the other. So this process was a big help.
