Target Audience
Two Door Cinema Club targets an audience of Alternative, Indie, Electropop music enthusiasts. As the music does have a dance, electro feel to it, this means that it would also be appealing to people who are into mainstream and dance. This makes the single quite dynamic and appealing to a range of listeners. After researching into the Target audience, me and my group thought looking at the sources that promote the band would help us identify the main audience that they aim there music at. NME is one of two door cinema club's promoters. The magazines target audience is mainly aimed at males into indie/rock music between the ages of 17-30. Their statistics also say that the majority of the readers are 25 years of age with 27% of their readers being female. Using this information from external sources it gives you a very good idea of what people they are trying to target. Along with this information, we can approximate that the majority of Two Door Cinema Club's fans follow the same trend. They have also stated that they are currently touring around the country performing in clubs and bars, showing us that they are targeting the teenage, young adult segment. Based on these facts me and my group are looking to base our video on predominantly males between the age of 17-30. If i was to choose the psychographics then i would pick explorer and reformers. I say this because explorers are people that want to try new things, that want to discover. They are early adopters to new products, in which case respond to brands with new sensations. Reformers refer to people that would be socially aware, and like explorers, do not attract to new brands just because there 'new'. They are also creative, in which case would be interested in things that cause a spring in surprise. The way that myself and my group will help aim our video at the relevant audience will be to wear the appropriate and stereotypical clothing in our video. This would be things such as skinny jeans, cardigans, leather jackets and shirts. Alongside this we will film the video using typical things that are seen in in die/rock videos such as performance based videos, with the band playing. To help this look more authentic, we will use props such as electric guitars and amps. Using these things, our video will be aimed more and more at the appropriate audience, that as a group is aiming at predominantly males between the ages of 17-30.
